Bands Use Facetime!

Written by Michael Vetter

The TSMS Advanced Band just participated in a "Facetime" performance with Carwise Middle School. Jason Obara, band director at Carwise Middle School and Chris Touchton band director at Tarpons Springs Middle School utilized their iPads to perform through Apple's Facetime app. In preparation for their Music Performance Assesments Carwise Middle played for Tarpon Middle and then the Tarpon Middle played for Carwise. "It was very constructive and educational for our students!", said Mr. Touchton "We both had an opportunity to make comments about each other's performance and we all had fun doing it". Both schools look forward to this ongoing project in the coming weeks. Their iPads were purchased with referendum funds provided by the referendum tax approved by Pinellas County residents.
